On March 9, I had the pleasure of performing an amazing and impactful short story called The Woman at the Party by local author, Rachel Howard, at Stories on Stage Davis. What a thrill to bring to life the words of another author!
When I perform in a play or musical, those pieces are written for a live audience. But a novel or short story is typically written to be experienced by one reader. Even an audiobook narrator isn't seen, remaining behind the scenes. So, it was such a unique experience to perform this type of literature live and one I'll treasure! I loved meeting the author, Rachel Howard, in person. And she said I captured what she pictured the character would look like and sound like exactly. How cool!
