Wow, what a book! I had to stay up really late for hours to finish it because I couldn’t put it down once I got close to the end. This book does a deep dive into all aspects of reproductive rights and the journey to motherhood, including ways to get pregnant, birthing plan choices, adoption, and miscarriage and abortion. But it’s all done through three distinct characters—Penelope, Nia, and Lotus—whose lives orbit each other in meaningful and impactful ways as they navigate difficult choices and circumstances surrounding their journey to motherhood. What I loved is how different the characters were, and how they forged such strong bonds of friendship and supported each other through loss, grief, joy, independence, and more. A great read with extremely nuanced and well-developed characters, and beautiful writing. Brava!
