What a book! So well written. Stunning sense of place and internalization of the main character. I felt like I was in the marsh… could smell it, see it and hear it. At first, I thought this was just a coming-of-age story. But it’s so much more! It’s a love story, a murder mystery, a coming-of-age story, and a story about resilience and strength. Very well done. And knowing this is the author’s debut novel and that she is 70 or so years old, I’m even more impressed and find this so meaningful. Bravo!
