by Maria Semple

Quirky as all hell! Endearing crazy characters that jump off the page and into your head and, sometimes, your heart. Definitely feels a lot like her first book Bernadette, but has its own storyline. It’s actually slightly more uplifting than Bernadette. I liked the subplot with the Flood sisters. And damn, what use of language and turn of phrase! Such masterful writing. You can tell that Maria Semple has written for television. Quick witted, quirky and smart.
