Such an enjoyable read! My second one by this author. It feels like a combination of contemporary romance, women’s fiction, and family drama — all genres that I love reading. I love that the protagonist is a female firefighter and that the entire backdrop of the story revolves around her career. It made the story unique and interesting. And it definitely seems authentic, so I wasn’t surprised to find out that the author’s husband has been a volunteer firefighter for years and fact checked the manuscript.
I pretty much could tell what was coming around the corner throughout the entire book, but that didn’t mean that I enjoyed it any less when it unfolded. It was almost like spending time with a good friend or going to a fabulous event and savoring every moment of it. Happily predictable. I have Katherine Center‘s most recent book on my Kindle, and I’m looking forward to reading that one also. She always delivers a great read.
