by Taylor Jenkins Reid
I loved this book! It has two female protagonists, one of which is Evelyn Hugo, a fictionalized celebrity of great Hollywood renown. The other is a journalist named Monique that is interviewing Evelyn about her life, and proceeds to get all of her secrets. How those secrets impact the journalist in present day are what really ties the story together. And there are some seriously wonderful, beautiful, juicy, and heartbreaking reveals! This book deals with identity (cultural and sexual), internalized shame, being true to yourself, and coming to terms with your past. So good! There is nothing that Taylor Jenkins Reid writes that I don’t adore.
