Wow what a book!! The exquisite writing, the arc of the story, the character development, the subtle mysteries woven in between the lines, the pain and suffering alongside with a deep profound love.
I absolutely was riveted by it. I think this is probably the First World War II novel I’ve ever read that’s told completely from the perspective of the women left behind and how they survived and fought in their own way. I had heard amazing things about this book and it not only lived up to its reputation, but I found myself smiling and crying when it ended with such deep satisfaction. Highly recommend it!
