Such a clever and unique story! I loved the historical fiction setting of London, the dual timeline, and the three point of view female characters. At times, it reminded me of some Alice Hoffman books, especially her most recent one Magic Lessons. Although this book is not really magical realism. It’s definitely more mystery meets women’s fiction with strong female characters. Very atmospheric with strong pacing. Some readers have said that they thought the beginning was a little slow. I didn’t find that to be the case. I thought it was more setting the stage which I don’t mind, especially in historical fiction. And once the plot gets going, it’s like a roller coaster ride. Couldn’t put it down!
