I really enjoyed this book! It is a young adult novel that captures teen angst so well. Eleanor and Park feel like little misfits in high school until they meet each other and fall in love. All of the 80s references, especially the music, were awesome. And I love the vivid descriptions of how they become attracted to each other, and it feels almost painful because it feels so good. Eleanor’s family life was unbelievably sad and very frustrating at times. And the ending of the entire book leaves you sitting here very very frustrated! And yet, in some ways, it was perfect. It doesn’t seem like the type of love story that needed to be tied up at the end with a cute little bow. In fact, I bet the characters would’ve hated that bow if it had turned up!
