by Nina Totenberg
This book was wonderful! I have been waiting for it to come out for a long time. I listened to it on audiobook, and it was even more special because the author, Nina Totenberg, narrates it herself. And she has such a familiar voice for those of us that have listened to her as a journalist on NPR for years. But I’ll be honest that the highlight of this book for me was hearing about her relationship and friendship with Ruth Bader Ginsburg. I had heard they were friends, but I didn’t know the depth of their friendship until I read this book. They were friends for decades, and extremely close, becoming like family. I loved hearing about how they met, how their significant others impacted their friendship, what they shared about their respective careers, how they empowered each other, and how they supported each other. What a special friendship! They both broke through so many glass ceilings, and they had each other to lean on while they faced those challenges. A dynamic duo indeed!
