by Gloria Mattioni

What a powerful book. I loved the relationship between the sisters, the Italy and Los Angeles settings, and how the author took on such a difficult subject (death with dignity) and handled it was such care and respect. Gloria Mattioni pulls the reader into the story and doesn’t let go. It is emotionally heartbreaking but also beautiful. Often, it felt like a sensory experience because of the creative additions of music lyrics, poetry, letters, and journal entries. If you are looking for a book that feels unique, and delves into a powerful relationship between siblings when one of them suffers a traumatic medical trauma, definitely give this one a read!
