by Heather Frimmer
This is Heather Frimmer’s second book, and I enjoyed it as much as her first! If you’re a fan of medical fiction or family drama (or even better, the two of them combined!), you’ll want to read it. It’s told from the perspective of a brain surgeon, his patient who also happens to be his sister-in-law, and his teenage daughter. It’s filled with complex characters faced with difficult decisions at every turn. A lot of it leaves you hanging on the edge of your seat, turning the page to figure out what will happen next. Dealing with addiction, sexuality, secrets, revelations, and loyalties, Better to Trust feels surprisingly realistic despite its complexity. Because isn’t life truly complex?
