What a wonderful debut novel. I really enjoyed it. The storyline was nice and tight with fantastic character development. It is about a Cameroonian couple who come to America to try to make a better life for themselves, and how their life gets intertwined with that of a couple that they work for, made up of a wealthy Manhattan financial planner who works at Lehman brothers and his wife. The characters are multifaceted and evoke sympathy and frustration, but there are also many moments of joy and connection. A fascinating insider view of the immigrant experience. Well done!
