I realize I am a true fan of the author Sara Gruen. This is my third book of hers and I’ve enjoyed every one. This is an interesting read. Sort of a historical fiction love story during war time with a little magical realism thrown in. It can be slow going at first as she delves deep into the characters and setting to set the stage. But then it sort of takes off and I couldn’t put it down. I was drawn into the Scottish setting and the different story lines and found myself rooting for certain characters and outcomes. Very enjoyable.
