This book is so lovely. It definitely falls into the genre of literary fiction.
The language is so exquisite. It flows and feels much like poetry at times. I would often have to stop and just savor phrases before I moved on. It definitely makes you think about life, yearning, freedom, friendship and love. It makes you think of love a little bit of the romantic kind, but mostly love that you choose, whether that be special life-long friends, or children, biological or otherwise.
The Count is a gentleman indeed, and one that I felt privileged to be able to spend some time with.
