A Look Back: My Favorite Books of 2016

2016 was a banner year of reading in my world! I read many debut novels, discovered writers that were new to me, and revisited writers from my past that I knew I loved. I wound up reading and reviewing 84 books total!  People started asking me for my favorites of the year or which ones stood out. And there were so many good ones last year that it’s hard to choose! But alas, I went through the list and selected  20 stand outs. Here they are!

Come Away With Me by Karma Brown
A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein
The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak
The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George
The Light Between Oceans by ML Stedman
Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
All The Breaking Waves by Kerry Lonsdale
The Book of Unknown Americans by Cristina Henriquez
Falling by Jane Green
The Wedding Sisters by Jamie Brenner
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
The Vanishing Year by Kate Moretti
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
The Flood Girls by Richard Fifield
Run by Ann Patchett
