Raise that flag—Let Pride Month begin!

I’ll be participating as an author at the table for Queer Sacramento Authors Collective (QSAC) at Davis Pride Festival on June 7, and the Sacramento Pride Festival on June 14 and 15. QSAC includes LGBTQ+ authors and/or authors whose books include LGBTQ+ characters.

My debut novel, EVERYTHING WE THOUGHT WAS TRUE, was awarded first place for LGBTQ+ Fiction from the International Firebird Book Awards. It explores how keeping the secret of a closeted gay husband/father forever shapes an Italian Catholic family in NY and CA over multiple decades. Set against the backdrop of LGBTQ+ rights and history from the late 1960s to 2015 when the U.S. Supreme Court legalized same sex marriage. My novel is inspired by my formally-closeted father who is now out and proud, happily married to his husband.
