What fun to finally be at the stage when I can send ARCs out to official book reviewers! Hope they enjoy spending time with the Antinori family and their Italian style drama! And I love that some folks are asking questions about ARCs, street teams, and the importance of early reviews so I’m going to break a few things down.
ARCs are Advance Reader Copies. Authors send them out to early readers/book reviewers who are part of your “street team” (launch team) to help bring the book into the world with a splash. These early copies go out in digital and print form. Some publishers, especially larger traditional ones, give authors a lot of complimentary ARCs, while other publishers, especially small presses like mine, can only provide a few. In that case, authors purchase these ARCs at their own expense and happily mail them off to those who’ve raised their hand to be official readers and reviewers.
I’ve been waiting a long time for this step and it was so much fun to savor it. First, there was the joy of receiving a box of the print version of my books. Then I packaged up each one lovingly with a personal thank you note to early readers and reviewers. EVERYTHING WE THOUGHT WAS TRUE has now been sent to every corner of the United States. Loved watching it make its way into the world!
I’ve been gathering street team members for EVERYTHING WE THOUGHT WAS TRUE for a while now! Years, to be exact. They are readers, writers, authors, and book influencers who have expressed an interest in this story, love to read early copies, and are tried-and-true reviewers who post on book review sites and social media. Early reviews are instrumental in helping to bring attention to a novel and help it find its readers!!

I’m very grateful for my street team and love seeing some of their early reviews. What a thrill! Can’t wait to share some of those reviews and see even more as the novel makes its way into early reviewers’ hands and hopefully hearts!
Want to get your grabby hands on the novel? Pre-order it from one of these bookseller sites: https://books2read.com/u/4DqdJd. It releases January 27th!
